I’m really digging Alfie’s painting of a breastfeeding mother, and I hope to see it in person at some point. Featured artists include Alfie Ebojo and Sacred Art. Madre is a group show featuring artists from L.A. This Friday is the opening of the Madre art show at Espacio 1839. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate all of the hardworking mamas out there than dedicating an entire art show to motherhood. Anyways, here are some things to do this weekend, with or without your mom, and some spots to get some last minute gifts. She gives no f*cks and I aspire to be badder than the woman that likes to says stuff like, “It takes three men to make a perfect one,” and, “What’s the worst that can happen, you die? That’s not so bad.” So naturally I’m making her favorite sangria on Mother’s Day and got her the L.A. It’s time to show your mom (or yourself if you don’t have one) some appreciation! My mom is 4’10 and tough as nails –– I’ve seen her instill fear in big men. Mother’s Day and Día de la Madre are happening this weekend.
